Using masks also led to the fact that VRAM (video memory) was running out, all 24GB. We used Nerfstudio, used their nerfacto-huge model, trained a total of about 16 hours.Īll 360 images in full resolution (6464 x 4860) did not fit into the model, at the loading stage we ran out of RAM, which we had 128GB. NeRFs are awesome because they preserve the distant background (and the sky) and also mange things like shiny and transparent objects in a way that is much more visually pleasing than photogrammetry, which usually fails to deal with such stuff.
The images for this were shot IN LESS THAN ONE MINUTE with the Mosaic Viking (world’s highest resolution mobile mapping camera). My colleague Ilia Shipachev made this incredible NeRF of the National Museum and Wenceslas Square in Prague.
